Youth Leadership Summit

The Annual Youth Leadership Summit grew out of the Youth Leadership & Career Development Program, which debuted in 2018 via grant support from Key Bank and the Klock Kingston Foundation. This one-day summit is presented annually by members of the current Leadership Ulster cohort. A partnership with the YMCA of Kingston was established in 2023, and thanks to Calief Housen ’25, a partnership with the local non-profit Career InTouch Inc. was initiated in 2025.

The Summit is open to students in grades 8-12 from all school districts in Ulster County. Programming introduces students to personal and professional development exercises, different leadership styles, activities to increase networking skills, the how-to’s of job applications and interviewing, and financial literacy.

The program is held annually during the spring semester. There is no charge to attend.
