CHAMBER OJT PROGRAM HELPS LOCAL BUSINESSES GROW
The Chamber's On-the-Job Training Program (OJT) assists local
employers with obtaining and training qualified employees while
providing job opportunities and practical on-the-job training for individuals.
Established in 1968, the program has assisted more than 4,000 Ulster
County residents in getting jobs and training. Currently funded by
the Ulster County Workforce Investment Board and the Chamber,
employers can receive up to a 50% reimbursement of wages paid to
eligible employees during the training period. Bob Hirsch, the
Chamber's OJT Coordinator, meets with employers to determine their
employment needs and refers qualified applicants to the employer.
Bob is available to speak with any employer or individual interested
in getting more information about how they can participate in the
program. He can be reached at bob@ulsterchamber.org
or by calling the Chamber Office at 338-5100.
