2012 Committees of the Board of Directors

Executive: Frank Flynn (Chair), Terry Parisian (Chair-Elect), Larry Begnal (Vice Chair), Steve Sickler (Treasurer), Scott Herrington (Secretary), Cheryl Bowers (Immediate Past Chair). 

 Audit 
Mission statement: To conduct a review and analysis of the annual audit. Members of the Executive Committee are excluded from serving on this committee.  

 By Laws, Policy & Personnel
Mission statement: To conduct an annual review of the Chamber’s By Laws and Personnel (HR) Policy. 

Business Recognition Awards
Mission statement: To select the winners of the Annual Chamber of Commerce/UCDC Recognition Awards and to schedule, coordinate and host the annual Awards Dinner. 

Finance 
Mission statement: To review and monitor the finances of the Chamber on a regular basis and to assist in developing an annual budget. The Committee will also review investment policies on a regular basis and develop a long term financial strategy.  

Government Affairs
Mission Statement: To advocate for responsible economic development in Ulster County by using the Template for Intelligent Growth. To educate our members by conducting seminars and “shirtsleeve sessions” relating to issues of interest under consideration at the local, state or federal level. Should the Committee wish to endorse a particular issue or project such recommendation will be forwarded to the Chamber’s Board of Directors for its approval.  

Membership 
Mission statement: To discuss and carry out appropriate methods to increase and enhance Chamber membership. To assist in planning membership drives and other events aimed at recruitment and retention of members.  

Scholarship Golf Tournament 
Mission statement: To conduct an annual golf outing to benefit the Chamber’s Scholarship Fund. 

Strategic Planning 
Mission statement: To coordinate development of a two-to-three year Strategic Plan and subsequent Program of Action. To monitor progress and update the board at regular intervals regarding the initiatives set forth in the Program of Action. Committee shall include the Chairs of the following Standing Committees: Finance, Government Affairs, Membership. 

Wing Fling Committee
Mission statement: To schedule, plan, coordinate and conduct the Chamber’s annual Wing Fling.
