The Ulster County Chamber is a countywide business organization
working to advance the health and vitality of Ulster County. The
Chamber is a leader on issues of economic development, business
retention, promotion of our businesses and community and active in
tourism. We provide services to our member businesses that help them
to grow and be successful. The professionally trained full-time staff
is available to assist members in any way they can. Our board of
directors, made up of a variety of individuals from a wide cross
section of the membership, brings additional insight and expertise to
the organization.
The Chamber's affiliation with other professional organizations
regionally, statewide and nationwide are additional resources on
issues affecting our members. Some of these organizations are:
- Chamber Alliance of New York State
This is an organization of Chamber professionals from all areas of
New York that is committed to providing professional development
opportunities for member executives and leveraging the power of
chambers to promote state-government policies that will improve New
York's business climate.
- The Business Council of New York State, Inc.
This organization is a statewide business organization working to
build an economic renaissance for New York State and its people. They
work to represent the interests of the business community in the
public-policy process.
- The United States Chamber of Commerce
Although all chambers can work with all levels of government, they
tend to concentrate their efforts on specific levels: Local chambers
of commerce tend to focus on local issues, state chambers on state
issues, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce focuses on national issues
at the federal government level.
- American Chamber of Commerce Executives
ACCE's mission is to enhance the professional effectiveness and
personal well-being of chamber executives. The organizational vision
for the plan is that ACCE be a visible, positive influence in the
management life of every chamber professional.
