We actively promote our chamber members and their services. Members
are also encouraged to support fellow members.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY AND WEBSITE
All chamber members are listed alphabetically and by category in our Membership
Directory and will receive a complimentary copy of the printed
version. Additionally, the membership directory will be available on
the Chambers website. Active links to members web pages and e-mails
will be included free of charge.
NETWORKING
Monthly breakfasts featuring speakers of local, regional, state and
national prominence, business-after-hours mixers and special chamber
sponsored events are ideal opportunities
for chamber members to meet each other and promote their businesses.
NEWSLETTER
Every month members receive a Newsletter which keeps them informed of
Chamber activities and issues of importance to the business community.
PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Our experienced full-time staff is very accessible and readily
available to help you promote your business interests.
PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Promote your business by advertising in the chamber newsletter,
Membership/Quality of Life Directory, sponsoring a chamber breakfast,
mixer or other event. Take advantage of the opportunity to insert a
flyer in the monthly Newsletter mailed to all Chamber members.
INSURANCE PROGRAMS
Chamber members are offered participation in a variety of insurance
programs at reduced group rates. These include health, dental
and long-term disability offerings.
LEGAL HOTLINE
Chamber members can subscribe to a legal hotline for ongoing
professional advice about employment and labor issues.
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS AND ACTIVITIES
The Chamber is the County-wide voice for local business, with members
actively involved in local, statewide and national legislative
affairs on behalf of the entire membership. Research is done on the
cause and effect of proposed local, state and federal legislation and
how it impacts the business community. Follow-up takes place with the
appropriate officials.
REGIONAL REPRESENTATION & PARTNERSHIPS
Chamber officials act as a liaison with other Hudson Valley chambers
to represent the interests of our members in regional affairs.
SERVICE CORPS OF RETIRED EXECUTIVES (SCORE)
SCORE members provide free counseling
and referral services to chamber members. The local chapter of SCORE
is sponsored by the Ulster Chamber and Ulster County Community College.
CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN
Certificates of origin are signed free of charge for member
businesses requiring this documentation.
EDUCATION AND BUSINESS PARTNERSHP
We advocate and participate in partnerships between local businesses
and our educational institutions to help prepare our students for the
world of work.
ON-THE-JOB TRAINING
On-the-Job Training helps employers recruit and train employees while
receiving a 50% salary reimbursement to help defray some of the costs
associated with training new hires.
ULSTER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE
Members are offered an opportunity to participate in a community
leadership training program. This program educates future leaders on
the community, local and state government, law enforcement, arts and
culture and community development. Upon graduation participants are
prepared to serve on local boards and community organizations. The

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS
The Chamber presents training programs throughout the year to help
members and their employees keep up to date on the skills and issues
affecting their businesses.
TOURIST INFORMATION
The Chamber helps to promote tourism and local businesses by
distributing their brochures, visitor maps, responding to thousands
of calls and actively working with Ulster County and state tourism offices.
RELOCATION INFORMATION
Assistance is provided to new and potential residents by providing
vital information on our community, local schools, realtors and
related services.
